Coiled Serpent, detail of serpent in Mysteries of the Rosary Sargent probably copied this study of a coiled serpent from an ancient source during his travels. The serpent appears at the lower left of the section of the Mysteries of the Rosary vault at the south end of Sargent Hall, behind the figure of Eve.
