Frieze of Prophets, detail Sargent completed his Frieze of Prophets last of all the north wall areas; he had decided to create Moses in high relief only weeks before sending the murals to Boston. Sargent himself supervised the installation, completed by late April 1895. Art critics hailed his work as an “epoch-making achievement,” and it led to a second contract that doubled his compensation while expanding the scope of his commission.
